Subj : Rise and fall of BBSes To : RALPH SMOLE From : Pbmountaincat Date : Mon Sep 26 2005 09:54 pm RS>Spitfire was one of the many BBS softwares that I ran Nimbus on. Used to lov RS>it. I ran Spitfire,Shotgun,Wildcat,Renegade,Mystic and even tried Telix RS>hostmode. Finally settled on Synch and plan to remain with it for good. I like how Spitfire runs and such but most people hated Spitfire. I wrote a program for Spitfire years ago to read file lists and create bulletins of # of files in areas, and such. Don't know if I have it around anymore, wonder how Syncronet file areas look like. Back in the day, we had over 300 areas, fidonet, relaynet and some other small ones. College paying the bill, calling Indianapolis several times a day was good to keep fresh content. Have a great day.
