You might be able to use an older distro or a custom compile of the kernel to get it running on a 486, but dunno. I know Fedora and Red Hat won't install on anything less then a Pentium anymore, but the others might. What speed is your 486? If less then 50Mhz I'd suggest just getting a cheapo Dell from EBay. OR if you want your computer to appear as it did before and it's a standard AT, throw another mobo and processor in it :) THis way as it sits there it'll like as it did years ago.
