Wish them luck on that. If they have a cell phone, you should coach them on some back roads. I remember helping a friend out with a field trip to the Ikea in Houston. It was about a 3 hour drive--I was in an old short bus for hauling all the stuff, it would have fallen apart if I tried to speed. The word of mouth right here at least earlier today was the drive was taking 20 hours. Immediately outside of Houston, the traffic was going a mile an hour. People have been walking out of the cars to the side of the road in the jam in order to relieve themselves. In Austin, I've already had to augment my commute because 290/71 was clogged up westbound. I am hoping by the time this post is out, Houston has started contraflow, and your friends are already settled. .
