Therein lies another problem altogether. I take pride in my strong sense of individuality. I doubt I could learn to be a 'team player' and be just another body being given orders. And I realize I could just play along and pretend to be molded into what they want me to be. I know people that are currently in the military and are doing just that. They are going through the program, just playing along and not letting any of that conditioning and programming that occurs in training touch them. I, however, because of my O.D.D. couldn't do that. I'd have to act out and prove to everyone that no matter what they say or do to me, they won't change who I am (did I mention I'm extremely stubborn as well). I'd be dragged kicking and screaming (literally and figurativly) through the training. I do agree that some people benifit from military training. I know some delinquents that improved greatly from being in the military and in fact rather than spending their adult years in jail where they were originally headed, they became productive members of society. I however will argue that it be manditory for EVERYONE to become a part of the system. Besides people like myself with mental conditions, what about others with physical problems; those that COULDN'T go through the training at all?? What shall be done with those unfortunate souls??
