Would it be fair to force them to join the military and make them do things they don't believe in? Or what about those that were over weight and couldn't go through the training? Should you force them to lose weight and get in shape? (I for one have not seen a single obese military person) And suppose they have O.D.D. (oppositional defiant disorder) and would end up mouthing off or actually fighting their superiors? I actually have all these problems and I knew long ago that not only would I not WANT to join the military, but that I physically, mentally and morally WOULDN'T be able. I am a spiritual person and I do believe in turning the other cheek and unless I was directly assaulted and my life was in danger, I would not be able to fight. It's just not in me. If I were to change that I would change who I am as a person and forcing me to do so would infringe on my freedoms. Unless there were ground forces invading US soil and marching across the country, and unless myself or my family were directly a target, I would not be able to bring myself to fight. And I seriously doubt that ever happening. If anything we're either getting nuked or gassed or poisoned or some other quick non-confrontational strike. These men are cowards that know better than to risk direct fighting on our home front. I love myself, I love my family and I love my country but I hate my government and I refuse to fight for something I do not believe in.
