OK, but I doubt he was making that distinction. Is that how the court decision
went. or was it a cap on jury judgements?

In anycase, one side wants to reduce the costs of killing or maiming someone. I
say it's cheap at twice the price. Where else but in America would they put a
price on someones worth and then argue over it... negotiate?

I also understand tht, sh|t happens and it's not always preventable. However
it's not always that way. Sometimes it is preventable and foreseen. I think it
such cases huge punitive awards are called for. Companies do costs analysis to
see if a recall or judgements are cheaper. Why do you think they do these? 

A recall when needed should be automatic. By raising the bar on what passes for
alternate options here, a recall will more likely to happen. Isn't that a good
thing?
