You'd be surprised how the quality o > life improves when you feel like a contributing member of society! I can make no defense here. You are correct. There are MANY on state aid who could be activelly employed. There is a system that they understand and exploit. A month or so ago when a discussion was raging over Social Security reform this was a point I was trying to make. Don't punish those who are out there paying into the system by raising age limits so high they'll DIE before they ever are elidgable or cut benefits for them. Get rid of the ABUSE! For some reason government would rather PUNISH those who are out there doing the RIGHT thing rather than those who ARE NOT! On educational aid, I highly agree. I can think of nothing more noble than helping a young person get a good start in life with a good education. It also serves the national good. This was one area our president chose to cut to fund the war. You could make a argument on jobs here, what we have lost over seas, but there are those that wouldn't work no matter what.
