I was the fourth son in a family of 14, and the first to graduate high school. Three of my older siblings died of drug overdoses. I joined the military as soon as I was able, starting as an E-1 and retiring 20 years later as an officer. I joined with a half-dozen others in forming a small IT services company in the mid-90s here in DC, and that company just sold with its 850 employees in January. What did I learn? Hard work pays off. I believe in giving people a hand by treating them fairly. I do not believe in giving someone an advantage over another, and I definitely do not believe in giving a free ride through life! If someone chooses to laze around, do dope and be promiscuous, let them have at it. I could care less (as long as it doesn't infringe upon my own rights). However, they shouldn't expect my sympathy when looking for a handout or even the medical care to treat diseases they contract. Doing so only perpetuates the behavior and the poor genetic makeup. --- þ Synchronet þ BBS Doors (www.bbsdoors.com) .
