Then why not apply the same principles to the housing market? Around here, you can't touch a house for under $400K. Why don't we have the federal government take over all housing, so everyone has the same standard of living? For that matter, what about food? It's a damn shame that some people are able to eat sirloin several times a week, while others are lucky to get ground beef.
