Then why the hell do we care if some poor sot in Appalachia suffers the effects
of poor dental care later in life?  It amazes me that people are so quick to
cite Darwinian theory on evolution, yet completely disregard the work from
which it was derived done by Malthus.  Maybe they believe "survival of the
fittest" isn't relevant to humankind!  At least many of the religious zealots
approach charity as a personal sacrifice and aren't trying to levy it across
the entire nation in the form of taxes.
