Sure.  I can't remember who we're talking about hypothetically right now, 
but while I live, I can support my wife/kids/pekingese directly.  It's 
only after I'm GONE that they need to do it themselves.

I'm having that say while I'm alive.  (Most people write their last will 
and testament *before* they die.)  My heirs are capable of doing something 
with it.  I should have some say because it is mine, and upon the instant 
of my death it is theirs, so *they* should have some sign.  it is never 
"un-owned".

Why should some other guy, living or dead, feel that making it matter to a 
complete stranger like you is important?
