The problem with income tax is that you need to pay the government for the right to recieve money (possibly even assets... do you need to pay 10% income tax on a house that's a gift? 10% of what exactly? Who decides?) As for a flat 10% sales tax... do you mean on retail purchases only? How many times can the 10% "flat" tax be charged on a single item? Does it still count as paid if I pay it on all the components of a computer, assemble the computer, then sell it as a unit? What if I sell the parts individually then sell the labour for assembling it? Does the 10% still apply to the components (again) or just to the labour?
