Joe's small buainess simply wasn't as profitable as he would have liked.  
No matter how he looked at the books, it seemed he'd have to lay someone 
off.  He narrowed the field down two employees -- Jack or Jill.  But no 
matter how he racked his brains, he couldn't decide which of those two it 
would be.  So finally, he decided to let the choice of who was laid off be 
made randomly.

He positioned himself where he could see the water cooler, and told 
himself that the first to take a drink of water, be it jack or Jill, would 
be the one that he laid off.

Jill had been out boozing the night before, so it wasn't long before she 
approached the water cooler.  Taking two aspirin from her pocket, she 
began to fill a paper cup.  Joe approached, and began to talk to her in a 
sorrowful, but determined voice.

"Jill, I have decided that I will have to either lay you or Jack off...."

"Oh, please," interrupted Jill, "Would you mind Jacking off?  I have a 
headache and don't feel for a lay right now....."
