The Bowie song might be.  I've always called it "Major Tom" but that could
be a mistake.
 
Another band (German, I think) did a "tribute" to the character in the Bowie
song.  I think that song was called "Major Tom."  It was out about the same
time the Planet P song was out, so I guess "lost in space" songs were popular
at that time.  ;-)
