Power projection, presence and persistence of vision.  We need to show,
by exposure and example, that freedom (or, at least, the lack of
tyranny) is a better way of life.  We've successfully eradicated or
eroded all serious bastions of Communism in this manner, and I'm
confident the same will be true of this extremist religious ideology. 
Human nature itself already has the required fertility, and we just need
time to plant the seeds.
