Only you can answer the question of your own motivations, but the airwaves are clearly full of those who are using this war only to make political hay with the incumbent president. They obviously have no true regard for the outcome of the war, Iraq people or our soldiers in harm's way except for the obligatory "but I support our troops" clause. I wish Bush had greater "direct exposure" on the Katrina event, so they could point their dogs on that front. And the irony is that it's not like they're going to impeach him, get him to resign or vacate office any earlier than the end of his term! It's just silly politics. As you listen to the talking heads and entertainers that stroke your chosen political persuasion, you should imagine that stream filtering through the eyes and ears of a soldier in a mess tent in Iraq. Imagine how he or she would interpret that same commentary or joke. Substitute the word "Afghanistan" for "Iraq" and see if it's still true or funny. Chances are, if it seems demoralizing or degrading to a soldier on the battlefield, it's probably pure political tripe and shouldn't have been spoken in the context of the war. --- þ Synchronet þ Ultimate Geeks - Upper Marlboro, MD .
