You're the one who wants to wait for victory of some sort. If the US were to pull out, I'm sure the UN peacekeepers would be there in short order if it's required. If 98% of Irqai citizens want freedom, they can quite handily arrest and kill 2% of their population without american help (Even if it costs 4% to do it). As for the "festering sore" bit... it's already there, is the US staying to "cauterize" Iraq? When you stupidly blunder into a situation, there's quite often not a clean exit stratagy available to you. Say Iraq is a rather full womens bathroom, and the US is a man... the man blunders into the womens bathroom by mistake... instead of apoligizing and leaving red-faces, he sticks around to help the women overcome their mental anguish over having been seen. The BEST exit strategy in such a situation is to leave immediately, apologizing all the way. There is an official government of Iraq (Their official homepage appears to be iraq.usembasy.gov interestingly enough). The US should now pull out and provide the same support they do with other generally friendly countries having massive internal problems. If you'll willingly admit that the war is won, and the troops are just hanging out over there absorbing casualties until Bush and friends come up with some way to get them out without loking like idiots, hemmoraging money to send MORE troops to the location of the war that's already won, how can you say that the population wanting the troops home damnit isn't support of the troops? If, on the other hand, you claim the war is NOT already won, please outline the victory conditions for me. --- þ Synchronet þ My Brand-New BBS (All the cool SysOps run STOCK!) .
