I do not want criminals walking the streets. But even more, I do not want innocent people killed for the sake of PR. That serves no one. And it hurts law enforcement efforts later on. When you can point to system statistics and show a disproportional number of minorities in jail and doing time over other races's, you can't expect to be respected when you say justice is blind. And I'm not talking about committing crimes I am talkinga bout those convicted getting different stentancing due in part to the race. There are other factors too. But it's a glaring error in the system. Which brings me back to 'w' statement. No innocent man has been executed while I was govenor.
