Have the U.N. put American > soldiers on trial for war crimes in Iraq! They say that the victors write the history books. If the Nazis had won the second world war, it would have been Churchill and his political and military leaders who were tried at Nuremberg. Since the USA is most likely to "win" the war (although there seems to be no concrete definition as to what "win" means, since overthrowing the government, capturing it's leader, and siezing control of the country still isn't "win" enough for the war to be deemed OVER) it is unlikely that GWB will be tried for war crimes. But I ask you this: If Bush and his military leadership, along with the servicemen (and women) who served and continue to serve in Iraq *were* tried for war crimes with a jury of everyday Iraqi citizens, what proportion do you believe would be acquitted, and what fraction would face the firing squad? My belief is that very few of the "Saviours of Iraq" would be coming home. > The unfortunate thing is that your sentiment is neither in jest nor > unique among foreigners. Nor the majority of Americans, it would appear! > So, here we have eyeball-greedy media giving coverage to our own idiots > as they slap "STOP THE WAR" bumper stickers on the car. If your own press-corps is showing your actions in a bad light, maybe you should consider the possibility that your actions *are* in fact bad.... > Unbelievable... ....that some people still think this war is anything other than a travesty of justice. --- þ Synchronet þ Debatable wisdom from The ANJO BBS .
