It's not that we have no influence... but what we do is countered by the environment. If we produce more carbon dioxide, the trees breathe better, and produce a greater output of oxygen. I feel like we've not done any DAMAGE per se. If you think about it, there was an asteroid hit this planet big enough to create the gulf of mexico, but the planet went on with producing life.
