And people just as smart (or perhaps smarter!) have said it is.

VERY few scientists maintain that global warmnig is not a fact.  Average global
temperatures *have* increased 0.6 +/- 0.2 decrees celcius since the late 19th
century.

A larger minority (but still a minority) of qualified scientists believe that
man is not responsible for it in any meaningfull way.

You will probobly not find any qualified scientist however who claims that
global warming is not happening.
