I love my country and I'm happy to inhabit the part of the world that I 
live in.  But I am willing to recognise our weaknesses and failures.  
Certainly, I hope I am not blind to them.  For instance, we are no longer 
the absolute world leaders in cricket that we were when I was a boy.

As for disrespect, I can disrespect certain attitudes of Mr. Brian Lara 
who, IMHO, was/is the key force behind our fall from cricketing greatness.  
I can disrespect those members of the general public who fail to see the 
flaw in West Indies cricket.

Just because I love my country, that does not mean I am afraid to speak 
out when I see something that is wrong.  Failure to admit you are sick is 
not a good way to achieve a cure.
