I think you'r falling for a line.

So the guy is a bwave sojer who get butt-fukked by the administration, oh 
boo-hoo!  I don't see why I should applaud his behaving like an asshole 
when he's *here*.

Frankly, all the "respect for the brave men and women doing a dangerous 
job overseas" talk leaves me untouched.  I can speak out against the war, 
and the administration; the political and military leaders that engineered 
it withOUT impuning the integrity of the servicemen and women at the sharp 
end.  But it does not automatically mean that they gain my respect as 
people.  There are assholes all over the place.  Including, as we have 
seen, in the military.
