My first experience with a board was on a 1200 baud modem. Not an accoustic coupler, but I've used those too. It was running RBBS. I wasn't sure how to respond to it's whats your name question, as I found it's number via a wardialing program I wrote. As for running sync, No I don't think so. I didn't much care for it when I CoSysOped Reid's board in Maine. I certainly wouldn't run it on one of my boxes. As for running stock, Our boards were anything but. We tried spitfire, SBBS, RBBS, tribbs, renegade, then I got pissedd off and wrote my own; (it was based on EBBS, originally). Myself and another called it CoRE BBS. It wasn't an l33t looking setup out of the box, it was just very configurable and supported almost everything you could possibly want to do, and it was free. I have no plans to run a board man, Nobody pulls mp3s from 0day via telnet anyways. I like visiting old boards, and playing door games from yesteryear; but as I said before, I haven't been a SysOp since 92. No since in going back now. --- þ Synchronet þ The DarkSide BBS *** Telnet://darkside.dtdns.net .
