So your judging someone else's BBS against your own?  That's a bit one 
sided... I think there should be a panel of independent judges involved.  
Then we'll include in this judgement, not only visual, but the 
content... Taking both into account, then the "Panel" votes and we'll 
see then who's cuts the mustard.

Personally, the large majority of visually pleasing BBS's had zero 
content, and couldn't get their users to stay for any length of time...  
Who cares what it looks like, so long at the users find what they are 
looking for.  If there's nothing there for them they'll be like... wow, 
nice looking board... where's the files?  Where's the door games... I 
wanna play Lord... etc...  The only people that give a damn about the 
visual portion are other SysOp's, and then, not that many give a shit.

You know, most users have scripts written for each board, so when they 
log in, it skips past all the pictures and menus, right to whatever it 
is they wanna get to...Lord, etc..  thereby eliminating all your 
precious labor of love.  For the Message hounds, they log in using a QWK 
script, get their packet and are gone... never once seeing any of the 
visual stuff... the Filers usually log in via FTP, and again, never see 
any of the visual...  So, whats the point?  Do you find it amusing to 
belay the point of a visually challenged board?  

Sorry, I just get a kick outta the elitism of the visually inspired 
boards.  "Oh... I can draw, I got some cool ansi's and wicked menus, so 
my boards the best, because it looks cool..." "You can't draw, and you 
don't have any cool ansi's or menus, so your board sucks"... What a 
joke.
