  They were put in office to perform their part of the system of checks and
balances.  As such, they were most DEFINITELY performing their job in
attempting to hold a potential face of the nation at the UN accountable despite
his and administrative attempts to simply refuse to be held accountable in any
way.

  Which is a recurrent theme since 2001, and not just on the national level.

  Ah, so you DO seem to have some concept of a mechanism in play in the
government beyond "GWB does whatever he wants and good for him".  I wondered.

  The "threats" are just talk.  The mechanism is what's important, and having
it chucked aside to the convenience of the CiC is a travesty of the entire
system.
