That's why I have the Shoutcast server at another site with more bandwidth. 
All I need from the source to the server is a single 8KB/sec stream.  The
listeners stream from it instead of me.

I have heard one mentioned here.  Try asking Tracker1, and possibly save
yourself from reinventing the wheel... I think it was him, anyway.
