Subj : making binkd poll my hub To : Michael Dukelsky From : Ryan de Laplante Date : Sat Feb 12 2005 03:51 pm RL> I'm aware of the -P parameter and tried it out. Works well. MD> You may find the answer in the Q8 of the BinkD FAQ MD> posted here once a week: MD> cd . >> %outbound%\NNNNMMMM.ilo MD> where NNNN is the hex net number, MD> MMMM is the hex node number, MD> %outbound% is the path to the necessary zone outbound. I read this earlier today. I manually created one of these files by hand, but using a filename from a FLO file I saw created today. It seemed to have no effect. I didn't know how to convert the net and node to hex but realized I can use the windows calculator for help. I did that and came up with 00E507D0.ILO I manually created this file, waited a minute and sure enough binkd did a poll and picked up some mail! I created a poll.bat that changes to the correct folder and creates the ILO file. I used the built in windows scheduler to schedule that batch file to run every hour 16 minutes past. Then we give binkd a minute to wake up and see the file and it will poll at 17 minutes past the hour like my hub asked. I'll wait another 20 mins and come check on the computer again to see if the schedule kicked in and caused a poll. Looks like it should work.
