(well not just ring but any other PW: > strings as well) Hmmm...I haven't done any communication programming in Assembly (some in QBasic for Com Port Init routines) and I'm not familiar with Fossil programming, *but* I will look it over and let you know if anything comes to mind. I do mostly low-level File projects (I wrote my own File Manager/Command Shell that I still use daily). :) I did consider writing a sort of mini-mailer in Assembly once just for transferring files on-demand locally between systems (like a dedicated File Server), but never completed the research. Probably still have the notes around somewhere. I got lost in the FTN documents, but learned some FIDO-speak. Are you looking for a keyboard operated "fake" modem to talk over a null modem adapter or something similar?
