Subj : dayboot1 question To : Gerald Miller From : mark lewis Date : Wed Nov 26 2003 04:37 pm ml>> can dayboot handle running items on specific dates or as soon after ml>> that date? the concept of running every X days is ok for some things ml>> but if i need something run on the 25th, i can't just say +30 for the ml>> days between runs as it wouldn't always run /on/ the 25th... ml>> i'm not yet actively using dayboot in a production environment because ml>> i'm needing this one capability... the main thing is that if the ml>> machine is locked up on the 24th and doesn't get unstuck until the ml>> 26th, that task for the 25th must still run... GM> I'm sorry for taking so long to answer your post, but my GM> uplink crashed and he was not able to get his system back GM> up and running until yesterday... understand... GM> Now, to attempt to answer your questions: i see... looks like i may have to do something similar to what i do in some of my programs that require to know the day of the month... hummm... then again, maybe not... 4DOS knows what the day of the month is... @DAY[mm-dd-yy] Day of the month it should be possible to work that into dayboot1 so that one can use x days between runs or certain day's of the month... echo %_date 11-26-03 echo %@day[%_date] 26 looks right to me... now to figure out how to denote a specific date in the ..dat file... [looking] well... you use a + to show every X days... maybe an = to denote the exact day of the month?
