Thank you.  I now see that I should have asked you the format of the date data, 
ie, DD.MM.YY (German); MM-DD-YY (American/Canadian); YY/MM/DD (Australia 
???)...  ???

I'm trying to find a way to automatically convert the data file to whatever 
date format is currently being used.  I've found two different ways to 
accomplish this....

I like this idea very much and will see what happens when I start working on 
the process.

Bless you.  This has a certain "elegance" about it.  Thank you and I'm sure 
this little snip will solve the storage of day, month and year into separate 
fields....
