Effective today, sales and service for 4DOS, 4NT, Take Command, and all other JP Software products have been taken over by Rex Conn, the products' primary developer. An introductory note from Rex is below. The company name, product names, support options, and web and email addresses all remain the same. We know that Rex plans to continue product upgrades, and of course expects to offer the same quality products and support that you've had from JP Software in the past. The new contact information is as follows: JP Software Inc. P.O. Box 328 Chestertown, MD 21620 Order Line: 800-368-8777 (unchanged) Main number: 410-810-8818 Fax: 410-810-0026 Email: sales@jpsoft.com (unchanged) Web: http://jpsoft.com/ (unchanged) Technical Support: Use the support forum, accessible from the support area of the JP Software web site at http://jpsoft.com/. For sales, technical support, and customer service issues, including telephone support for those who have a paid support plan, please use the new numbers listed above. Our company continues as a Massachusetts business, though the name will eventually change. To contact us regarding administrative matters and accounting issues for orders placed prior to Monday, September 9, 2002 please email snazarian@jpsoft.com, or use our main number, 781-646-3975, which will remain in place for the near term. If you have an order or payment pending please note the following: * If you are waiting for an order placed for physical delivery prior to September 9 and delayed due to back-ordered manuals, there is no need to inquire about your order status. We have these orders and will ship them from the Massachusetts office in a few days when the manuals are in. * Payments due for orders placed prior to September 9 on credit terms should be sent to our old address, P.O. Box 1470, E. Arlington, MA 02474. Payments for orders placed September 9, 2002 or after go to the new address above. (If you ordered online or by credit card we will take care of this for you automatically; this note applies only to those paying on credit terms.) Finally, I'd like to thank you for your business over the last 13+ years. I've greatly enjoyed being a part of developing and publishing such useful, quality tools as 4DOS, 4NT, and Take Command, and have really appreciated the strong loyalty and interest of our customers as the business and products developed. I'm equally grateful for the work of our staff, especially Mike Bessy, who has been handling our technical support for over 12 years, and will continue to do so with Rex at the helm; and Steve Nazarian, who has provided customer service for us for the last year and a half. Personally, I'm now ready to move on to other things -- I plan to do consulting and contract software development for the next period of time. Rex and I have worked together for almost 15 years on these products, a business relationship I've really enjoyed. I know he is dedicated to technical excellence and quality products, and will continue to offer you valuable tools and services. I hope you continue to find them useful for many years to come. Sincerely, Tom Rawson President, JP Software Inc. (Massachusetts) trawson@jpsoft.com ================================================================ Dear JP Software Customers: I liked the software so much, I bought the company! I'd like to thank Tom Rawson, Mike Bessy and the rest of the JP Software staff for their hard work and dedication to quality for the past 13 years. It contributed hugely to the success and devoted users we now enjoy. And I'm pleased that Mike Bessy has agreed to stay on, providing his unique nearly 24/7 technical support. I wrote the first version of 4DOS nearly 15 years ago, never dreaming of the longevity it would achieve or the spinoffs (4OS2, 4NT, and all the varieties of Take Command) it would generate. And the end is nowhere in sight -- I'm hard at work on new (and I hope compelling!) versions of 4DOS, 4NT, and Take Command. I will be making a few changes to the JP Software product line: * 4OS2, Take Command/OS2, and Take Command/16 will no longer be sold. However, they will be available for download as free but unsupported products. * The Windows 95/98/ME and Windows NT/2000/XP product packs will be discontinued, replaced by a lower-priced ($99.95) CD Suite. I'm excited at the prospects, even while I'm struggling with the logistics. Please bear with us as we make the transition from JP Software (Massachusetts) to JP Software (Maryland) -- I know you'll be pleased with the results! Sincerely, Rex Conn President, JP Software Inc.
