No, Caldera OpenDOS 7.01 (1997) is the successor of Novell DOS 7 (1993 - 1995) and the original DR DOS 3.31 - 6.0. OpenDOS 7.01 is also the pre-decessor of Caldera DR-DOS 7.02 and later issues. OpenDOS 7.01 was bundled with some issues of Caldera's Linux distribution (for sure with OpenLinux 1.2). AFAIK current issues of OpenLinux come with DR-DOS 7.03 image instead. Most Linux distributions of other vendors come with FreeDOS, an open source project (http://www.freedos.org), which, however, is still in beta stage. If you want to learn more about DR-DOS or even want to obtain a full copy of DR-DOS 7.03 (the current desktop release), which is free for personal use, have a look at http://www.drdos.org or http://www.drdos.net or ftp://ftp.lineo.com. Greetings, Matthias PS. Please note that /this/ group is dedicated to 4DOS (and NDOS), JP Software's enhanced command processor replacements for the default COMMAND.COM shell, which come with all DOS issues of any vendor. It is not a general DOS discussion group "per se". -- ; http://www.uni-bonn.de/~uzs180/mpdokeng.html; http://mpaul.drdos.org -- |Fidonet: Matthias Paul 1:342/3 | | Origin: The Cereal Port BBS (603)899-3335 199.125.78.133 (1:132/152) --- # Origin: (1:132/152.4) * Origin: Baddog BBS (1:218/903) .
