nah, it uses temp files, but it uses a different filename scheme
possibly that has something to do with it.

Only to within 55 miliseconds... (at either end - same accuracy as that
prompt kludge)  close enough if you're comparing 11 seconds with 5. But if
I need it I've got a C program that can time in microseconds.... (similar
source at snippets.org)
