Assuming you're using 4DOS, there's no really large advantage to either one over the other. 4DOS's COPY command features more flexible file selection and better handling of things like file descriptions, plus the options remain the same whether you're running under Windows or not. XCOPY gives you compatibility with non-4DOS environments, and slightly faster throughput.
