.... this doesn't tell us much: not very good is not exactly a good definition
of what you don't like.

The typematic rate can typically be set in the BIOS, and in the system
properties (?) under keyboard (?) (I have a German XP system here and need to
translate these start menu entries), and my XP seems to recognize them in an
4NT window.

If you want to control this by a command line utility, you can call this from
your 4START.BTM or your autoexec.nt (in your systems32 folder).
