Not really earlie ones. The earlie ones didn't have disc drives at all, but tape decks. Even the 160 kb Floppy was invented a little bit later...... AAMOF my manual (german version of course) says roughly translated: The IBM BASIC-Interpreter of the IBM Personal-Computer exists in three version: - Tape - Disc (floppy of course) - Extended These versiona are upwards compatible. Disc basic contains addons to tape basic and extended Basic contains addons to disc basic. The Manual was printed in 1983. Further it states: special addons of disc basic are: - I/O to disc - internal clock - asyncronus filetransfer (RS232) - support of two addon printers ...... it runs on machines with a minimum of 48k main memory :)) - *wbr* Rolf - -- |Fidonet: Rolf Jentsch 1:342/3 | | Origin: The Cereal Port BBS (603)899-3335 199.125.78.133 (1:132/152) --- # Origin: (1:132/152.4) * Origin: Baddog BBS (1:218/903) .
