Subj : DIR on an empty CD-ROM drive under 4DOS 7.01A To : All From : Dan McMullin Date : Thu Mar 21 2002 04:25 pm From: Dan McMullin Greetings, all. Prior to the release of 4DOS 7.01A (54), issuing a DIR command on my CD-ROM drive (R: in my system) when there's no disc present in the tray yields what I consider to be the expected result: Drive not ready--close door R(etry), I(gnore), F(ail), or A(bort)? Under 7.01A, I get the following result: Volume in drive R is unlabeled Nothing else is displayed. No "0 bytes in 0 files" or anything similar. The @READY[] function properly returns a value of 0 indicating that 4DOS does indeed know that no disc is present. So why is 7.01A giving me what I consider to be a somewhat misleading result with DIR? Is this what JPSoft calls a "feature" or is it what I call a bug? --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-2 * Origin: Mach2 Systems (1:342/3) .
