    This is only because BIGFILE.BIN must previously exist before the
loops begin.

    So, this MERGE.BTM works on my system, and on yours too:

ECHOS > bigfile.bin
DIR /B *.bin | FOR %i IN (@CON) DO copy /B bigfile.bin+%i
