If all the computers that control the water purification plants shut down, would you trust the stuff coming out of your tap? I almost don't trust it now, WITH the computers running. The idea was that if the power went out (no pumps to to pump water to the houses) then you'd need some water to last until the water system was able to be put back right. My point is (and I'm not looking for a debate or an arguement) that having some drinking water around at all times is a good idea. Disaster can strike at any time, and from quite unlikely directions. The folks in California throught their power grid was fine 3 years ago. Rolling brownout this year.
