Subj : Y2K power failure? ;-} (flame To : Russ Johnson From : Melvin Ahching Date : Thu Jul 20 2000 01:08 pm Well for me while I prepared for the worst, I was kind of bummed that nothing terrible happened to me... I mean the clock struck 12 on Jan. 1, and none of my computers went off, the lights did not go off, planes did not fall from the sky and the world did not go into deeper chaos. A recent issue of Interactive Week billed the Y2k bug as a big nothing or somethign to that effect... a lot of people over-reacted and many others made a killing ($$$) off the perceived scare. All I can say about Y2K was that for some it was the biggest marketing campaign of 1999.... it certainly got a lot of people to spend needlessly. And not only on computer stuff, but on all of those propane stoves and food supplies.... --- GTMail 1.26 * Origin: Kentucky's Capitol City Online * 502/875-8938 (1:2320/105.0) .
