The old, old story I think, Russ - those who had no involvement absolutely cannot appreciate (in either sense of the word - understanding of or gratitude for) the tremendous amount of work and money - as you suggested - that went towards ensuring that the transition WAS as smooth as human effort could make it - and, let's face it, it had the potential to be the most monumental screw-up since the industrial revolution.
