Bill Gates has never looked down on Mac. In fact, Bill Gates was so impressed 
by Mac, he ignored the objection from IBM to start a team in Microsoft to 
develop Mac app. During that time, Jobs and Gates were very close friends. In 
John Sculley, Steve Jobs, and Bill Gates's biography, all of them have 
mentioned that Jobs and Gates called each other almost everyday to discuss 
what kind of software Mac needs and what kind of software MS could do. Excel 
and MS Word were born then.
