Investigators believe it's a case of murder and suicide. Police withheld the names of the couple whose bodies were found yesterday. Neighbors told the San Jose Mercury News the couple was Bin Yang and his wife, Ying Liu. Wesley Kuo lived nearby. He and his wife used to play ping pong with the couple and they never mentioned any problems. But police say the couple was going through a divorce. When Bin Yang failed to meet a friend as scheduled, he asked police to check on them. When officers arrived -- they found a moving truck in the driveway, the front door unlocked and the couple dead from gunshot wounds. A neighbor said the truck had been there since Friday. Wronge Mercury News They went to work and came home. Sometimes they barbecued out back; sometimes they played pingpong with the family across the street. That's about all neighbors knew of the quiet couple found dead Sunday in their Berryessa home in what police believe was a murder-suicide. Police did not release the names of the couple, pending notification of family members. But neighbors identified them as Bin Yang and his wife, Ying Liu. Neighbors on sleepy Wharton Court were stunned to see crime tape wrapped around the manicured lawn of the two-story home. ``I thought their relationship was good,'' neighbor Wesley Kuo, 40, said Sunday. The two families liked to play pingpong together at the Chinese Church in Christ in Milpitas. Kuo said his wife talked to the couple often and never heard them mention marital problems. But police tell a different story. ``They were married and going through a divorce, but we're not sure how far along that had gotten,'' said Sgt. Steve Dixon, a San Jose police spokesman. According to police, the husband was scheduled to meet a family friend Saturday but never showed. When the friend didn't hear from him, he called police at 8:21 a.m. Sunday and asked them to check the couple's home. When police arrived, they found a moving truck in the driveway, the front door unlocked and the couple dead from gunshot wounds in the downstairs area of the house. Florentino Viloria, who has lived next door to the couple for nearly six years, said he hadn't seen the husband around for at least six months. He also noted other irregularities. The front window of the house, which he said was left open year-round, had been shut since Wednesday. No one brought the trash cans to the curb for pickup Thursday. And there has been a U-Haul moving truck parked in the driveway since Friday. ``They used to cook in the evenings in their back yard, but I haven't smelled anything in months,'' Viloria said. ``I don't think the man was living there anymore.'' Santa Clara County medical examiners this week are expected to determine the time of death and whether the husband or the wife shot the gun found at the scene. For now, little is known about the couple. They apparently moved to the Bay Area from Canada and led nondescript lives as computer engineers, according to neighbors. Many said they hadn't gotten to know the couple because the couple had no children, unusual for the family-oriented neighborhood. ``I wouldn't categorize them as very open people,'' said Joy Li, who lives on the cul-de-sac. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [big5] 矽谷血案夫婦皆北大畢業月前申請離婚楊彬生前曾與李錦麟共事 (記者張耀鋈聖荷西報道)一對被鄰居形容為恩愛和睦的華裔夫婦，週日晚被發現伏 屍在他們位於聖荷西巴利雅沙區半山住所內，兩人已證實中槍身亡，警方初步調查 相信是男戶主不滿妻子提出離婚而開槍擊斃妻子後吞槍自殺。據知男死者約在半年 前被公司裁員，而且是與去年十一月矽谷發生一宗華裔家庭倫常兇案男死者是在同 一電腦公司工作，豈料兩人相隔兩個月後會遭遇同一命運。 再次轟動灣區華裔社區的這宗家庭倫常兇案已是近月來涉及華裔的第二宗，亦是涉 及亞裔的第三宗。雖然截至昨晚，負責調查該案的聖荷西警方兇殺組人員表示尚未 有進一步調查資料可以公佈，而且更不願意證實兇案兩死者的身份，但據記者調查 了解，兩死者均是來自中國北京並在北京大學畢業的楊彬（BinYang）及其妻子劉穎 （YingLiu）。兩人年約四十餘歲，任職矽谷電腦工程師，未有子女，夫婦兩人居於 聖荷西巴利雅沙高尚住宅區，位於半山的WhartonCourt一五二七號。據消息證實， 楊彬是北京大學物理系七七年畢業生。 約半年前遭裁員 據悉，灣區的北京大學校友會會員昨日在知道楊彬一事後已召開會議，商討協助楊 彬夫婦辦理身後事。 據一名與男死者相熟的華裔鄰居陳先生透露，楊彬在約五，六個月曾向他表示已被 公司裁員，而且男死者是與去年十一月聖荷西發生家庭倫常慘案的疑兇李錦麟是同 事，都曾供職於聖荷西的Kendin公司。當時楊彬對他表示對李錦麟的行為感到吃驚， 豈料時隔兩個月楊彬自己卻與李錦麟走同一樣的路。至於案中女死者則在另一間電 腦公司工作。 他指出，數月前，楊彬亦曾告訴他已與妻子辦離婚手續，自已已搬離上址，所以他 已很久沒有見過楊彬，而據他所知楊彬原約好在上週六替一朋友搬家，故租了一輛 U-Hall的小卡車，但不知道為甚麼到朋友家前返回WhartonCourt，然後發生該宗慘 劇。 陳先生說，他從未聽過楊彬在家中藏有槍械，所以他也不明白為甚麼兩人會中槍死 亡。 二人中彈遺下鳥槍 警方於週日上午揭發該案。據悉，楊彬原相約一朋友在週六到友人的家，但楊彬未 有應約，由於一直聯絡不上楊彬，該名朋友於週日上午八時二十一分向聖荷西警方 求助，要求警方檢查一下楊彬的住所。當警方抵達楊彬住所時，發現車庫外停泊了 一輛租貸來的U-Hall小卡車，大屋前門未有上鎖，警員推門入內，發現兩死者伏屍 地下大廳中，兩人均是中槍死亡，男死者身旁有一枝鳥槍，屋內未有搜掠跡象。 聖荷西警方發言人SteveDixon警長表示，雖然街坊形容兩死者是恩愛夫婦，但警方 證實兩人正在辦理離婚手續，而且根據現場調查蹟像顯示，估計案件是兇殺及自殺 案，應是男死者用槍擊斃妻子後吞槍自殺。法醫官將於週內進行驗屍確定死因。 警方調查人員昨日已撤離及將現場解封。雖然現場一區的居民百分之九十五是亞裔， 但據了解，死者夫婦除與一兩戶上同一教堂的鄰居有交往外，平日很少與其他鄰居 打招呼。一名菲律賓裔鄰居更形容在上址居住了兩年半，與其他街坊已認識，唯與 祗隔一屋的楊氏夫婦則從未見過面。 據另一名鄰居VickBaltazav表示，他近來已注意到這對夫婦有些反常，比如說死者 家前的大窗一向以來是經常開著沒有關上的，但自上週三卻突然關上，而週四收垃 圾那天，死者家也沒有把垃圾桶放在路邊，接著在週五看見一輛U-Hall小卡車停在 車道上。由於楊彬夫婦平日很少與鄰居打招呼，故他未有深究，週六晚他未有發現 可疑事件發生，亦未聽到槍聲。直至週日上午有九輛警車到場，聞得警員在上址逐 戶拍門查問後才知道發生兇案。 鄰人未聞有異樣 四十歲的鄰居WesleyKuo則表示，他一直與死者夫婦關係很好，兩家人常到苗必達市 的華人教會，而且一起打乒乓球及聊天，但從未聽過兩人提起婚姻方面出現問題。 居於死者對面的法國裔女戶主在五年多前與楊家差不多時間購入上址居住，對夫婦 二人的印象不錯，認為他們是十分有禮貌的好人家。楊氏的住所有四睡房，市價超 過七十萬元，故相信二人之死不應涉及金錢問題。 另一鄰居FlorentinoViloria亦指出，死者夫婦習慣黃昏下班後在後園進食，但他已 有幾個月未聞到上址傳出煮食香味，所以以為死者已不在上址居住很久。他與二人 也不相熟，祗是聽說兩人是從加拿大遷來灣區。 今次家庭倫常命案已是矽谷近月來發生的第四宗，全涉及移民，其中三宗均涉及電 腦工程師，原因是害怕被裁員或與婚姻有關，而且其中兩宗死者均是華裔。首宗是 在去年四月，居於聖他克拉市高尚住宅區的韓裔母親TaeyoungSchiefer親手用一支 點三八手槍槍殺自己與德裔丈夫UlrichSchiefer所生的十二歲女兒及五歲兒子後， 再向企圖逃生的丈夫連開六槍，將丈夫擊斃後，自己向胸部開槍自殺死亡。死者行 兇原因亦是丈夫與其離婚。 另一宗家庭暴力兇案在去年十月發生，性格內向的萄葡牙裔男子蕭維雅(LucianoLuisSilveira) 在東聖荷西住所內槍殺妻子Sandra及兩名分別為四歲及十八個月的兒子，然後吞槍 自盡。 第三宗家庭倫常兇案則更轟動整個灣區華裔社區。去年十一月十四日晚，四十七歲 來自香港的華裔軟件工程師公司行政人員李錦麟，被發現在聖荷西Almanden區6857CasualCt. 家中槍殺其四十二歲來自台灣的華裔妻子蔣正枝及兩人所生的九歲女兒李少雯和四 歲兒子李皓文。雖然然這宗轟動灣區及香港的命案至今仍事因未明，但傳稱李錦麟 是因憂慮被裁員而導致慘案發生。 .
