After 911, I just felt a strong urge to return to Canada. While earlier management of my past employer, Nortel Australia kindly tolerated my obstinate refusal of aiding any projects inside PRC, with the collapse of internet bubble, It was better for me (and probably for Nortel's current management) to leave Nortel, thus I asked for and obtained an early retirement package last November. Anyway, thanks to Internet and Nortel Australia, it was a lot of fun in designing and delivering internet backboness in almost every ASEAN countries + Australia. It was hard to say goodby to Melbourne and Australia, yet, on the day that I left Nortel, I had the peculiar feeling of relief as if I had successfully escaped from Chinatown..... I had been off the net since October 2001 until very recently, maybe 15th September of 2002. Partly because I felt very sad and angry about 911, partly because, strangely enough, after all my stock options and shares purchased through payroll deduction, becoming poof - worthless, I enjoyed a period of most pleasant and tranquil times of leisure. :-) Lately, I'm enjoying the breathtaking bliss brought to us by HDTV Technology. Wishing you all the best. Micky .
