When I went in 1998 there were hardly any, however by 1999 every Bank of China in Beijing had one that took foreign cards. When I returned last summer all Bank of China's and Industrial Commercial Bank of China's machines in Kunming took foreign cards. With the Olympics coming up this is likely to spread. .
