If you desire, you can be a pilot. It depends on yourself, but not the others. I have to say that I am NOT a pilot. But, the best way to understand how pilots to do is to be a pilot. > What you mean is only for common sense, if for any emergency, "Mr. Pilot" > will be the one who solve this problem...lost or win....just according to > the experiences of him.. Definitely Right! When the pilot lost, all the passengers lost! So, this is the reason why pilot can be paid with the high wage. One important reason that pilots are still existed in transportation airplane is to handle the emergency and abnormal conditions. When the condition is normal, the pilot is NOT necessary. At present, the wide body airplanes, such as the 747-400, can take-off and land by airplane itself at normal condition. The advertisement of AIRBUS even said that AIRBUS fleet, such as A330 & A340, needs a "monkey-in-seat", trained to push the illuminated amber-light-button and get the banana when necessary, to fly their planes. But acturally, nil any airlines put the "trained monkey" in seat. The advertisement of AIRBUS is meant that their airplanes have been desighed without pilots in normal conditions -- the air data and field conditions are within designed limitation. But, when abnormal, the experienced pilot is necessary. > But sometime, He is the human being too...he is not the God..it depends on > he control his "ruler " to measure up how's the flight today.... > ^_^... Human beings do not always reacts as the system expects them to, so the system has to be human-error-tolerant and able to reduce the chances of error. If the experienced pilot still make the wrong decision, that is the "Human Factor". Or, the pilot is NOT good trained. And, we can not name him "pilot". Please review the accidents of China Airlines at Nagoya and Tao-Yuan, China Airlines' experiences always teach the passengers to choose the good trained pilot. -- Aircraft Mechanic, CKS Airport, Taipei, Taiwan, ROC -- * Origin: 中山大學-美麗之島BBS * From: 140.109.249.84 [已通過認證] .
