Bach, baroque and beyond with political and social commentary by Bill

11:00  Cinco de Mayo Celebration
Join us as we commemorate the Battle of Puebla, fought in 1862 against
the invading French forces of Napoleon, and the resistance of the
Mexican people to invading foreign powers.  Zack Salem kicks off the
festivities with a musical salute to Mexico and its music.  At noon we
go to Martin Luther King, Jr. Park in downtown Berkeley for a live
broadcast of the 11th annual Festival de la Communidad, featuring this
year the music of Dr. Loco's Rockin' Jalapeno Band, Los Compas, Banda
Toritos Musical, as well as dancers, speakers "y mucho mas"! Host: Chuy
Varela.  A special thanks to Jim Bennett and the KPFA engineering
department for making it all happen.
