   Mr. Hastings of Florida introduced the following bill; which was 
               referred to the Committee on the Judiciary

To amend title 18, United States Code, to prohibit the disposition of a 
firearm to, and the possession of a firearm by, non-permanent resident 
                                aliens.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. PROHIBITION AGAINST THE DISPOSITION OF A FIREARM TO, AND THE 
              POSSESSION OF A FIREARM BY, NON-PERMANENT RESIDENT 
              ALIENS.

    (a) Prohibitions.--Paragraph (5) of each of subsections (d) and (g) 
of section 922 of title 18, United States Code, is amended by inserting 
``, or is not lawfully admitted for permanent residence in the United 
States under the Immigration and Nationality Act'' before the 
semicolon.
    (b) Conforming Amendment.--Section 922(s)(3)(B)(v)of such title is 
amended by inserting
``, or not lawfully admitted for permanent residence in the United 
States under the Immigration and Nationality Act'' before the 
semicolon.
