===================================================================== LASERWRITER PRINTERS: MEMORY CONFIGURATIONS ===================================================================== Article Created: 20 March 1992 Article Changed/Revised: 31 March 1994 Note: This article was extracted from the Apple Tech Info Library, Apple's official tech support database, located in the top level of the Support Area. TOPIC ----------------------------------------------------------- Is there a chart that shows memory configurations and SIMM speeds for Apple's LaserWriter printers? DISCUSSION ------------------------------------------------------ Attached is a chart that lists the memory configurations of all Apple LaserWriter printers. This SYLK file can be opened by any spreadsheet application. There are no RAM upgrades available. %These LaserWriter printers can be upgraded to a LaserWriter IIf or IIg. Contact your local authorized Apple dealer for upgrade information. The LaserWriter IINTX uses 64-pin, 120ns (or faster) memory SIMMs. The LaserWriter Pro 600 and 630 use 72-pin, 80ns (or faster) memory SIMMs. If you use a double-sided SIMM, you can only fill one SIMM slot since a double-sided SIMM electronically occupies both SIMM slots. The LaserWriter Pro 810 uses special non-standard 4MB and 8MB memory modules. The LaserWriter Select 310 uses 72-pin, 100ns (or faster) memory SIMMs. The LaserWriter Select 360 can be upgraded with a 72-pin, 80ns 16MB (4 Mbit by 32 bit) SIMM with 2K Row refresh (11 bit by 11 bit). The Personal LaserWriter SC can be upgraded to a Personal LaserWriter NT. Contact your local authorized Apple dealer for upgrade information. The Personal LaserWriter NT printer's two SIMM slots are treated as one bank; therefore, you cannot combine 1MB and 4MB SIMMs to get a 5MB configuration. The Personal LaserWriter NTR uses 72-pin, CAS before RAS, 80ns (or faster) memory SIMMs. The binary attachment (ex. utility/application/file/extension) mentioned in this article is enclosed only in the on-line AppleLink version of the article.
